CHOICES (Creating Healthy Options In Confronting Exploitive Sexuality) is a comprehensive community based treatment program for males and females with sexual behavior problems and disorders or histories of sexual victimization. CHOICES was established in 1981. Since that time we have provided treatment to a broad range of youth 8 to 18, and adults with sexual behavior disturbances. Specialized intervention services have also been developed for lower income individuals in cooperation with the Eugene Family Institute through the establishment of a specialized training program for therapists choosing to learn and work with these specialized client needs.
CHOICES provides comprehensive psychological evaluations of individuals who are either accused of or convicted of sexually abusive behaviors as part of our effort to develop an understanding of the specific needs of each individual. Individual, group, marital and family therapy are available and employed as indicated by the client's needs. We also have a complete sexual arousal assessment facility to aid in the assessment and treatment of extremely obsessive or compulsive sexual disorders.
CHOICES maintains a strong working relationship with the Courts, Juvenile Department staff, Adult Parole and Probation, and Services for Children and Family to aid individuals and families in working through the confusing situation which confronts them, to effectively coordinate provision of services and to facilitate the safety and protection of both individuals and the community.
