Completion Criteria
The following criteria are a measure of the clients progress in addressing
the goals of the CHOICES program for therapeutic intervention.

Client clearly understands thinking, feeling and behaviors
employed to initiate sexually inappropriate behaviors, develops and
implements alternatives and implements these alternatives in all
life areas, sexual and nonsexual.

Client develops clear, empathetic understanding of the impact of
any hurtful behaviors he/she initiates on the victims of such
behaviors.

Client learns, corrects, and replaces distortions in thinking
which have been used to harm other people or themselves.
-
Client achieves positive, respectful sexual role skills.
-
Client initiates and accepts feedback and utilizes this
information to effectively establish and maintain personal and
interpersonal caring and respect.

Client identifies repetitive patterns of destructive or harmful
behaviors and consistently interrupts these patterns even in
stressful situations.
-
Client identifies potential risk situations and requests help to
prevent future harm with a clear demonstration of concern for others
as well as concern for self.
-
Client discloses when problems have occurred rather than waiting
to be discovered in a clear effort to prevent similar problems form
occurring in the future.

Client accepts full responsibility for inappropriate sexual
behaviors and other behaviors which have resulted in harm to self or
others.

Voluntarily self examining of own behaviors.
-
Demonstrates empathy skills through interactions with others.
Continuing Obligation Elements
The following items are a continuing obligation. The client must
demonstrate consistent compliance with these issues prior to transition to
the Aftercare Program.

Consistently addresses assertiveness training and communication
skills training.

Completes thinking errors assignment ( 3 examples of each),
demonstrates full understanding of concepts and consistently
develops and employs alternatives in all life areas.

Regular attendance.
-
Demonstrates full understanding of Victimology.
-
Involves significant others in the therapeutic/learning process
regularly.
-
Presents consistent concern for victims (sexual and nonsexual).
-
Consistently follows through in agreements with courts, treatment
program and family members.
-
Has maintained consistent employment or academic involvement to
the best of his/her ability and, where applicable, maintains full
financial responsibility.
-
Consistently focuses on behaviors which display self respect,
respect for others and shows concern for others in the community.
Transition Elements
The following elements must be completed before transition to the
Aftercare Program.

Completes restitution project.
-
Reads and demonstrates learning from books as assigned - minimum
of 8.

Reviews video tapes from video library as assigned - minimum
of 8.

Completes clarification process.
-
Community service - minimum of 80 hours.
-
Completes sexual and personal autobiographies.
-
Completes mapping of abuse cycles (sexual and generic).
-
Completes family therapy as recommended.
-
Client, therapist, group, probation officer, family members and
therapy group all agree that graduation is appropriate.
-
Obtain a minimum of 20 personal feedback letters.
-
Completes final project which demonstrates full understanding of
concepts learned and which leaves a legacy for future group members
to learn from.

Completion of personal agreement obligations
Aftercare Program
-
Completion of a one year Aftercare Program with a
client/therapist agreement and program specifying the obligations
and conditions for Aftercare involvement and commencement.

abuse and 1 from today)

as well as others

____ Written sexual history, includes all forms of sexual behavior
____ Full sexual history disclosure polygraph
____ Maintenance polygraph, concerns honesty and compliance
Complete within 9 months
____ Written self-clarification, describe how your past behavior and
choices have influenced your life
Complete within 12 months
____ Plethysmograph (arousal test)
____ Written map of cycle behavior, including feelings and thinking erros;
and relapse prevention planning
____ Reading and Video reports (8 each) as assigned (possible
reading list)
Complete within 15 months
____ Written clarification letters to your victim(s) and appropriate
others
Complete within 16 months
____ Feedback letters from 20 individuals concerning their view of you,
your progress, and needs
Complete with 18 months
____ Summary presentation to group "What I have learned in
treatment" Includes how I have been hurtful, what has been the impact
of my choices, and what I could have done differently
____ Legacy project for future group members
